Pump Electrical Services in Sydney

Licensed Electrical Work Exclusively for Pump Systems

Sydney Central Pumps is a licensed contractor for both plumbing and electrical work, and carries out the electrical side of water pump systems.

This means when a pump system has an electrical fault, needs a new control panel, or requires panel maintenance, there's no separate trade to bring in and no handover between jobs. Our team handles the electrical component as part of the same pump project, which means the work, whether it's a repair, an upgrade, or a new install, gets completed faster and more efficiently, start to finish.

Pump VSD Controllers

Improve pressure stability

Minimise pump wear

Reduce energy consumption

Match motor speed to demand

Extend equipment life

Why install a VSD?

Variable speed drives adjust motor speed to actual demand rather than running pumps at a fixed rate. We supply, install, and program VSD controllers as part of new panel builds and can retrofit them into existing systems, particularly effective for multi-pump or variable-demand setups such as pressure boosting and stormwater.

One Call Does It All

Pump problems don't always sit neatly on one side of the plumbing/electrical line. A pressure issue might be a wiring fault. A panel alarm might point to a pipework problem. Historically, that's meant clients asking:

"Do I call a plumber, an electrician, or a pump technician?"

As a dual-trade-licensed contractor for pump systems, Sydney Central Pumps takes the guesswork out. One call covers the plumbing and electrical aspects of your pump system, with diagnosis and repair by the same team, so you don't need to coordinate multiple trades. This applies across every part of a pump system, from control panels and wiring through to the pipework and fittings the pump connects to. See our Pump Plumbing Services for the plumbing side of the same offering.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are you a fully licensed electrician?

Yes. Sydney Central Pumps is a licensed contractor for both plumbing and electrical pump works. Our electrical work focuses specifically on pump systems, control panels, VSDs, and associated wiring, rather than general household or commercial electrical work.

  • Can you fix a pump control panel that keeps tripping?

Yes. A tripping panel is often a sign of an underlying fault, such as overload, water ingress, or a wiring issue. Our licensed technicians can safely diagnose and repair the fault.

  • Do you install VSD controllers on existing pump systems?

Yes. We can supply and install VSD controllers as an upgrade to existing pump systems to improve efficiency and control, as well as on new installations.

  • How much does pump control panel electrical work cost?

Costs vary depending on the panel type, the scope of work, and whether it's a new installation, an upgrade, or a repair. We provide an obligation-free quote after assessing your system.

  • Can you handle both the plumbing and electrical side of a pump job?

Yes. As a dual-trade-licensed contractor, we can manage the plumbing and electrical components of a pump system as a single job, eliminating the need to coordinate separate tradespeople.

  • Do you do general electrical work, like household wiring or ceiling fans?

No. Our electrical licence is used exclusively for pump-related electrical work control panels, VSDs, and pump wiring. We don't take on general electrical jobs unrelated to pump systems.

  • Do you service pump control panels across all of Sydney?

Yes. We provide pump electrical services across Sydney, including strata, commercial and industrial sites from the CBD through to Manly to the North, the Blue Mountains to the West, and Sutherland to the South.
